Our
Catechetical team at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church is here to
accompany you, the parents, in the spiritual formation of your
children. We strive to provide your children with the teaching
of the Gospel and the beliefs and traditions of the Catholic
Church to ultimately bring them closer to Jesus Christ on
their lifelong journey of faith.
From birth to death we are called to grow closer to God. The
most important years of this process are the early ones when
children are most receptive and impressionable. It is
necessary that we—parents and parish—work together during
these critical years. We are here to assist you because many
of you do not have the time you would like to give to your
children for the instruction that they need. You assist us,
the catechists, by your cooperation and support. We can teach
them about prayer, the Eucharist and reaching out to those in
need, but it is only as they see this happening in the context
of their family life that it will take root.
May your home be filled with God’s love and peace.

Registration Fees:
Registration fees help to defray the costs of textbooks,
materials and resources used throughout the year.
Non-sacrament students:
1 child $50.00
each additional child, add $25
Sacrament student:
Grade 2 (1st Communion, year two only) $65.00
Grade 9 (Confirmation, year two only) $75.00
Students must attend (2) consecutive years of CCD classes in
order to receive a Sacrament. They will usually go into their
own grade level (with some exceptions) and have to attend a
Special Sacrament Class, 3 to 4 times a year. The purpose of
the Special Sacrament Class is to help the older students
catch up on the subjects of Reconciliation and Eucharist.
Attendance, Class Time and Progress Reports
There are only 25-28 CCD classes per school year. It is very
important that the students attend every class. If you know
that you will be going away, please inform your child’s CCD
teacher so that the missed work can be made up.
Class time begins promptly at 6:00 P.M. and ends at 7:00 P.M.
Progress reports are sent home in January and again in May.
Prayer
All students are required to know the basic Catholic prayers
before receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation and
Eucharist. These prayers are:
The Sign of the Cross
Glory Be
Our Father
Hail Mary
Act of Contrition
Prayer sheets are given to all the students in Grades 1 and 2.
Please practice these prayers each day with your child.
